Rue was our last hatchling for the 2025 hatching season. He is our free-range roo. We also have Judd Dredd & Yappy, our other Rhode Island Red Roos.
A few years ago, we started hatching baby chicks for our local hardware store. Two years ago, we started hatching from the RIR hen and the Bielefelder breed. The Bielefelder pullets are fluffy and have a chipmunk stripe down their back; the roos have a white spot on their head. Makes it easier to tell them apart.
